Gelso Moro White IGT 2016

 

The grapes come from vineyards in the provinces of Lecce, Brindisi and Taranto. The region of production of gelso moro IGT is characterized by a sandy clay loam soil, rich in calcium and magnesium. The average production of the vineyards is 120 quintals per hectare. The vines are grown using the spurred cordon scheme.

Straw-yellow color, the wine delivers an intense, fresh and fruity aroma. Very fresh and lively. The flavor is elegant and tasty. Agreeable, balanced, full.

The freshly harvested grapes reach the cellar where they are destemmed and crushed. The grapes are left to macerate on the skins for 10 days and the fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of 30/33°C. The wine is then aged for 4 months in oak barrels.

The vines are grown using the traditional scheme known as Apulian trailing vines, which has been for several centuries in Salento.

Intense ruby color. Aromas with hints of plum, cherry and other red fruit. Very fresh and lively. Light spicy undertone. Good body, fresh fruit, fairly good structure and well balanced flavor. In the whole a very elegant, fine and persistent wine.

The wine pairs with cured meats and pasta with tomato sauce. Excellent with meatballs but also with white and pork meats. Great accompaniment to mild cheeses.

The color is light rosé with visible violaceous glares. Intense and elegant aromas with hints of flowers. Very fresh and lively. Good body, elegance, fairly good structure. Light acidulous notes on the palate which makes this wine particularly fresh and lively.

The wine pairs with fish and shellfish dishes, such as soups, grilled or fried fish. It is also excellent with  light meat appetizers with fresh cheeses, accompained by roasted artichokes or asparagus. Serve chilled at 10-12°C.
